Global Minang Ventura (GMV) was established on a single conviction: that Minang cuisine deserves a permanent place on the global culinary map, and that building that place requires more than ambition — it requires a platform.

A Proven Brand at the Core

At the heart of GMV's global strategy is Restoran Sederhana — a name that has meant "authentic Padang food" to Indonesians for over five decades. Founded in 1972, Sederhana built its reputation not on spectacle but on consistency: real flavors, accessible pricing, and a kitchen culture that passes knowledge from cook to cook, generation to generation.

Today, with approximately 200 locations across Indonesia, Sederhana is not a brand that needs to prove its concept domestically. The work of GMV is to translate that proven concept into a format that travels — one that maintains authenticity across borders, time zones, and audiences who have never tasted Rendang.

Both restaurants moved through location assessment, renovation, staff training, and soft openings on tight, disciplined timelines — a deliberate signal that GMV is operationally serious, not just strategically ambitious.

The global appetite for authentic, culturally rooted cuisine has never been higher. Thai, Japanese, Korean, and Indian food all have robust international footprints. Minang cuisine is positioned to close that gap. Rendang has already entered global consciousness, named among the world's greatest dishes by international food media.
